Halo 2 Installing problem

Well I recently got a new disc drive and went to install halo 2 again. But when I run the startup.exe like it says to, the installation comes up but it's just a blue background with nothing in it. I'll attach a picture. I tried finding something on the internet but no one else had this problem, so I thought I'd ask here.

Yeah, when it autoruns the same thing happens.

try running it in compatability mode for XP see if that works

I did, i got the message saying that the game is only for vista.

have you tried to clean the disc?

also have you installed from that disc before?

Yeah i installed it a while ago, before i got my new graphics card so it didn't run well. I uninstalled it after a while, but when i got a new card my disc drive broke so i haven't been able to play it until i got my new disc drive.

Went to download it, but the windows validation plug in won't download so i can't get to the dl page.

It says "Setup could not download the file. Please retry later or check network connection." I don't know what's wrong as i'm obviously connected to the internet.

I figured it out, well the dx mess up anyway. Apparently i've picked up a tricky virus that blocks dls from microsoft, redirects google searches to ad sites and a few other annoying things. Running anti virus stuff atm i'll post later once i get rid of this thing.
