Crypt32.dll problems

I have put togeather a brand new PC and have installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it. All went well but then got issues with errors from crypt32.dll when playing Far Cry 2. In the end I reformatted and started again and Far Cry 2 played fine. Then as I slowely added things back in came time for Office 2007 and after I installed this and did the updates again Far Cry 2 popped up errors with crypt32.dll.

The game still played but always the error on startup.

Are there any known issues with Office 2007 and crypt32.dll under x64 as I have the exact same setup under x86 machine and it works fine with no error at all. Tried to register the dll again with regsrv32 but it also errors saying cant find the entry point.

All I know is that this game is an unoptimized console port from the 360. plenty of people are having nightmares with the DRM, XP or Vista, then again, some others don't have it.

Check out the UBI forums for the game and you'll see what I mean and also you may want to ask that question there as well.

For my part, I never let any Ubisoft game auto patch or auto install anything since they usually ruin more than they fix.

Oh, sorry... found this as well.

Thanks. It was working perfectly before installing MSOffice. But as soon as Office 2007 Enterprise was installed the problems began. This to me looks like Office overwrote the crypt32.dll file. Nothing wrong with the game itself.
I did see the reference you posted but that does not mention vista at all.
I did a search and can many issues with crypt32.dll and Outlook so makes it look more like Office. None mentioned a solution. I also looked at the Ubisoft site and no reported fixes there either so decided to ask here.
