Crysis WARHEAD DRM Issues and Support

I thought I might give everyone a heads up on this one.

Sunday, I was spending some downtime getting worked by the monster at the gate to the tunnel. So, I shut down Warhead and take the family out to dinner. Come back, see a PerfectDisk 2008 (build 64) update, download and defrag my C (system) and F (Games) drives. Then I fire up Warhead and get the DRM screen of death (paraphrased):

You have installed this game more than five times. Purchase a new key and reinstall.

BS, I say. I have installed once on one machine. Been playing perfectly ever since. Call up EA Support and they tell me this:

"Vista x64 is not supported."

Long story short, I argued that I was having a DRM issue, not a PC or OS issue. He resets my activation data (which said I had installed it 13 times) and I'm good to go.

I'm sending this info to Raxco (PerfectDisk) to see if it's possible a defrag borked my Securom stuff. If it did, with all the games starting to use Securom, I may be in trouble.

So, if you need support from EA, tell 'em you're running 32 bit.

i was thinking about purchasing this game, drm has made me close my wallet for the time being until they release some kind of deactivation method they were talking about

there is bound to be a hacked pirate version so its not exactly the best way to stamp it out if drm just encourages ppl to torrent it.
