this is the only game im having trouble installling coz it has a lousy 16bit installer on my old cd i bought in 1998. Has there been a repack of it since like the sold out software version of tomb raider 1-4?

i notice on ebay there are versions that are packed in the modern dvd cases we get now instead of the cd jewel cases like i have with my current copy.

thanks

Darren

Hey Darren,

The packaging may be different but it's seems that the software is still designed for Windows 9x. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that you are going to have much luck running this Windows 95 game under Windows Vista. If you're really desperate to play this game, you could try running Windows 98 inside of Microsoft Virtual PC and you may have some luck (though you will need to be somewhat tech-savvy to pull this one off).

Good luck.

VirtualBox can use hardware virtualization features quite easily to run games.

Try GRC|SecurAble: Determine Processor Security Features| and find out if you can support the hardware virtualization for running the game at full speed inside the Virtual OS box.

i have found some instructions on how to get it to work. At the moment tho, it wont run in hires mode even when i enable it in the registry file.

i have attached the files in the rar for ppl who want to replay the game.

Edit by dmex : Warning Registry Files can cause problems, make sure you know what your doing before using them.

I know the thread is old but OK, followed fieseler's info and played the game succesfully till level 8. That's when the game asks for disc 2. How can i continue? Thanks...

Old revive i know, but rather not make new post,

Been playing the game for a week or so after installing using JKhub's new 32bit installer utility.

JK Hub - [Project: Jedi Knight Alternate Installer]

and one is available for Mysteries of the Sith as Well (JediSetup.exe & SithSetup.exe!)

Its only a few kb so doesnt actually contain the game files and will ask for the CD on installation.

The good thing about doing it this way and not buying it off steam is that you get the soundtrack working in the background.

Enjoy

If you go to the Sevenforums.com, there are like 1 or two threads about installing JKDF 2... it may help you as well.

I tried to find my copy but I guess I finally threw it away... I wouldn't mind going through it one more time.

I often wondered why Lucas did not continue making more games like this one.
