Hey, alright well when doing a fresh install vista will not see my RAID configuration thus no HDD's are found, I tried the supported xp 32-bit drivers and mutiple others from silicons website, but no avail.
Tried the driver, at first nothings found then i un check the "hide drivers that are not compatile with hardware on this computer" and some come up...highlighted them all and hit next just for giggles, but still nothing shows up..
I am having this problem as well. It is really strange, in the Sil program in Control panel it see's my drives but I can't manage them and windows does not recognize them in Drive management. Fortunatley there has been no issues with my Nvidia raid controller which I used for my system drives but storage on the sil has come up empty.
Well ,I install the driver, and them out of vista ( in the both ), make the Raid, and them in vista format it, on the system managament, no in "my computer".
Yes, i went to the site and noticed these bios upgrades for the RAID chip. i downloaded them and before running it read the readme and in it it stated that it was only for use on an actual RAID card, not integrated.
Thats pretty much the drill, I create striped 0 before i even put in the vista dvd, set it all up in bios, reboot it with cd in drive. vista loads and loads and loads. cant find anything. might as well not have a single HDD in my computer, sees nothing. tried all these drivers...still sees nothing
:eek:thanks for the reply! sorry I never updated or anything.. I bought a mini PCI-E sata raid card that has fully supported drives and no issues there. Anyways thanks again guys!
