2 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery drivers

Hi all

I have an HP Elitebook 8440p and it started showing the famous 'Plugged in, not charging message'. Well, the solution for this problem seems to be quite a simple one: uninstalling the 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery' driver and let Windows reinstall the driver. However, my system has 2 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery' drivers installed and when I delete both and let windows reinstall it I end up again with 2 of them and the battery issue persists. How can I prevent Windows from installing it twice? Thanks.

Just thinking aloud... and firstly this could well be a battery issue.

To remove the drivers have you tried removing the battery and then setting device manager to show hidden or unused drivers ? You could then try uninstalling them. Perhaps try the method in post #2 of the third link first.
