I have a Brother MFC-7860DW (its a fax/laser printer/scanner) and the drivers aren't working ever since I did a clean reboot.
The last time I got it working, I rebooted and it caused a BSOD the whole day until I re-installed another fresh copy.
Anyways, here's the deal.
brother website > Canadian version of download > un-install driver > re install driver > restart computer
After some searching of why it didn't work, I found out it said that my printer spool wasnt available or something.
did a quick search and it told me to please restart the printer spooler or system.
I did this:
Note
a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
b. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.
c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
And now I'm back to the 3 multi boot options that I had before, all which say windows 7 and lead to the same place.
Then I hit the windowsbutton+R on your keyboard.
Pasted in "services.msc"
Find print spooler and activate the daemon.
This is what the screen looked like:

Then I changed it to this:

But I also noticed this, shouldn't the Brother printer be in this list?

I'm just going to reboot now that I started the printer spool.
Beautiful! Now its working and printing like it should!
