Factory Image Drive (D)

Drive has only 1.29GB space remaining(10%). Only l item listed: Recovery 4/29/2009.
I have added nothing to this drive, can that 10% reading be correct?
Have tried everything to clear up space without sucess. PLEASE HELP.

Welcome
The factory image drive is just suppose to contain the image of your OS, in case you need to reinstall. The computer company should make the drive large enough to hold the required information and no more, since any space will be taken from your C drive and that is the one that you use.
Can you tell me the total size of your D drive, to see if it is working correctly?

The D Drive total capacity was 11.2 - used 9.96 - free 1.29 (10%

When I click its icon the page shows only 1 item:
Recovery 4/29/2009 8:30pm File

Nothing states the amount of space used by this 'Recovery' and nothing else is
recorded on that page.

You will see a computer icon on your desktop left click on it. You wil now see your drives. Left click on the D drive and send us a screen shot. BTW so far it seems to be OK.
If this is where you got your information, you are OK.

When I click on PC icon only message: 'Reload this page' appears.
Nothing changes on screen

There are things that we can do such as downloading windirstat to see whats on the drive, but I dont think that it is necessary. The D partition is not used by you, it only contains the restoration image. It is suppose to take up as little space as possible. Enjoy your computer and if the available space does not decrease, there is no problem. If it decreases then post back and we will investigate further.

This sounds like a HP system. They always cut their recovery partitions very tight. But that is OK as long as you do not touch that partition. Hands off in all cases. It is purely meant as a means for reinstalling your system.
