ATI Radeon 3200 graphics card

Hi forum dwellers I am having a lot of trouble getting my graphic card to update itself. I have tried using the device manager numerous times to no avil. It always tells me that i'm up to date. But the current software/hardware update was from 2008. Thats lightyears behind on what i'm quite sure they have updated so far. My friend keeps telling me to update the driver but I have tried so many times.
I even went to the ATI website and tried the uninstall old driver install new procedure and it still tells me mine was last updated in 2008 and that it is fine!

That should tell you if you have the latest driver.

When you run the check for drivers in Vista or Win 7, I think it checks to see if you have the latest generic Windows driver.

Okay so it tells me I have 7 drivers out of date. I have tried using device manager to update them and it says there all up to date even though driver manager says there out of date.

Is there an easy way to update these or a way to easily find the sites to update these?

hp Pavillion dv7 dv7-1130us
Windows Vista 64 bit

As its a laptop, leave them alone.

being mobo drivers, hp isthe best place to find them, and possibly only sure place.

I agree he should use the HP drivers from their website. However, I don't understand why he shouldn't replace them unless, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D

Since it didn't find anything regarding his graphics card, I assume he has the latest driver.

hd3200 is not good and the rs780 is an integrated video card. the RS780 is part of the AMD 780g chispet which has hd 3200-like video capabilities.

anything below hd3850 is a no go. especially the geforce 8600gt

I'm sorry but I could not take out the info you were trying to relay to me.

Are you saying my chip is just bad? Can't be updated?

Doesn't matter. Just go to the Hp support site and download/install the latest drivers for your machine. As I said before, all Windows does is check for the latest generic Windows drivers. It's not going to go to HP.
