Vista Driver for Motorola SBG6580 cable modem

My daughter has a Toshiba A135 S4527 laptop running Vista Home Premium 32bit and is trying (unsuccessfully) to establish a wireless connection to a Motorola SBG6580 Surfboard cable modem/router. She contacted Toshiba and was told that there is an issue with connecting her model laptop to Motorola modems, but they could not provide her with an updated driver. Does anybody know where she can find a driver that would allow her laptop to connect to the modem/router?

Hello, let me ask you a question, What does it do when you connect using a cable, does that work ?

Sorry....I am having to get this info second hand. She can direct connect just fine and access the internet. When she tries to connect wireless, the computer shows that there is a connection, but she cannot connect to the internet. She contacted Motorola and was told that there is a known problem between her cable modem/router and her wireless network adapter which is an Atheros AR5006EG.

Your ISP provides this router or did you purchase this motorola ?
