I have an HP dv5-1002nr notebook PC from 2008 (piece of junk if you ask me, but that's another issue).
Way back when I first bought this computer, the wireless adapter driver would get corrupted every time the computer would overheat. At the time, I was shown how I could reinstall the Atheros wireless adapter driver from my Recovery Manager.
I have since solved all the overheating issues, but this morning, the Atheros driver disappeared (or was corrupted) again, and I have tried reinstalling it several times, both from the Recovery Manager and from the HP driver web site.
The files will load, and the installation wizard goes through, but then even after I reboot, the driver still doesn't show up in my network device manager settings, and the network wireless adapter still won't turn on.
HELP!!!!!
