Hi, I need to reformat my hard drive due to a virus.
I have a 'System Backup CD' (made after purchasing and setting up the Computer). I have backed up my documents and have installation discs for most of the software/hardware, but want to be sure I can back up ALL drivers in case I come across problems reloading. I have searched/Googled, but have not been able to find a definitive answer to:
1 - is there a specific folder that stores ALL device or software drivers (rather than having to go to each device's 'Properties' via 'Device Manager')
2 - if so, do they also contain all previous drivers (ie for rolling back)
3 - I did come across a useful 'How to' link: How to take an Inventory of all the Installed Device Drivers in a Machine?, but despite following the cmd prompt enquiry and getting a full list of drivers installed on my machine, it would not (or more acurately, I could not manage to get the cmd prompt to save a copy to my Excel program....I think there was a step or two missing that enable the list to be saved to Excel). But even if this gave a list of all drivers stored on my PC, it doesn't show where they are stored...so not much help either.
Any advice or help will be much appreciated,
Cheers
