Local disk (C:) Access denied

Hey, I cannot access to my local disk, I'm the only admistrator on my computer. Here is what it looks like.

Then I tried to change the security option, but it dosen;t work....here is what it says..

The sharing setting, or the error-checking option doesn't work either.

Nothing seems to work, I cannot open, delete or install any thing in my computer. Can anyone please help me with that ?

It sounds like a permissions problem, set up permissions. If that does not work try with the REAL adminstrator

Hello ishtiak90, welcome to the forum.

It sounds like the default permissions somehow got mixed up. You can fix this with the icacls command but this may not be what you want to do. Vista has a very complicated setup for default NTFS permissions that is very hard to duplicate. For the root of C:\ the Administrators Group should have full control. Just Right click on Command Promt and pick Run as adminstrtator. Type in the following commands.

C:
CD \
ICACLS C:\ /GRANT Administrators:F

This will grant the Administrators Group full control for c:\. It will not propagate this thoughout the whole partition.

I said I cannot run the CMD as admistrator, when I click Run as administrator it says "The parameter is incorrect"

Your account could be screwed. See what happens if you open a new adminstrator account and then try all that you cannot do.

Ok...if your admin cmd is not working, try this:

1. Right click on the Folder
2. Select Properties
3. Click on the Security Tab
4. Click on the Advanced button
5. Click on the Owner tab
6. Click on the Edit button
7. In the Change owner to box, highlight your Account
8. Check Replace owner on subcontainers and objects
9. Click on Apply
10. Click on Yes to replace all permissions
11. Continue to click on OK untill you get out of it.

Now see if it works...Post your result..

I'm unable to change the owner, and I cannot highlight my account "Khan-Pc"

I cannot create a new account, well I cannot do anything that a usual adminstrator can do.

I think somehow I removed myself from being the administrator, and because I was the only adminstrator on my computer....now this computer is runing without any administrator... :sarc:

To do that I first have to Run the CMD as administrator...which I can't...So again it says...access denied :confused:

User Account Password - Change from WinRE - Windows 7 Forums

Try doing this to enable the hidden administrator account, then once you've logged onto it, try editing the permissions for C:\ and try making a new administrator account

Also, install Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download

Run a full scan and upload the log for us please
