Hi
my D drive is in red and apparently full. i am not getting the warning sign yet but was curious if I can somehow just delete this drive. yes i know that it is a recovery drive. we do have a recovery disk handy. when i click on it it says "warning this area of your hard drive comntains files used for your PC Recovery. Do not delete or alter....." so if I were to delete it will is mess my computer up? do i really need to back it up to a cd since i already have a recovery disk? is there a way to just keep the drive but not have the full red bar there?

It would be OK to format the D drive, if the Recovery disk is alright, of course, the danger is, that the Recovery disk may not work.

I have to say, if it was me, i would keep the D drive as is, and if your getting low on disk space, add another HDD.

Why not download and use this. Make an image of your HD (you can put them on DVD's, if money is part of the equation). You can then delete the recovery drive. If you ever have problems, you can use the DVD, that came with the computer. If that fails you can restore with the image you made.

Move the data you have added to D: to C:

Do not use this Recovery Partition for saving your data.
