Solved Mouse access has been trapped

I Right click on the Desktop>select Personalize from the menu>select Mouse Pointers from the Control Panel\Personalization page that opens.....and this is the result;



Since I haven't a clue what all this refers to, I select and click on the No Button, and I'm advised that the Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working....here;



Is this a serious issue? This is the detailed report that appears in the Problem Reports and Solutions Folder;



I'm completely lost with all this mumbo-jumbo, and need some real advice to extract myself from this 'Mouse trap'

The Synaptics Pointing Device is another term for the built-in touchpad that is found on laptops. The error you are getting would imply that there is some problem with this driver.

Do you actually use the touchpad, or do you just use an external mouse? If you don't use the touchpad, you can safely uninstall this driver http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/171469-uninstall-device-device-driver.html. If you do use it, then again uninstall it and then download a fresh copy of this driver from here: Synaptics Driver Once downloaded, you should be able to reinstall the driver http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

....and I'm presuming that I can safely delete the Zip and standard Folders from my Desktop [Download and Run from locations]?

I'm pleased that your issue has been resolved. Yes, you can delete those files as you have finished with them. However, I would consider saving them somewhere for if you come across this problem again.
