Start up problem - System Recovery Options

Hi,

When I last started up my computer I had an error saying it wouldn't start up properly, and gave me the option to either use System recovery or start up normally. I used system recovery and it loaded the files, then it went to a blue screen and now says 'select an operating system to repair and click next. Only windows vista operating systems are listed and can be repaired'. 'If you do not see your operating system listed click Load Drivers to load drivers for your hard disks'.

Nothing is listed. What do I do here? I have a recovery disc but it isn't for my computer, so I'm not sure if it'll work for mine.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

My recomendations is if u have a second hardrive and dont want to lose ur data install ur OS on the second hardrive and boot that, and save all ur data on ur old hardrive and put it on ur other hardrive where u just installed the OS, then format your old hard drive which crashed and put the data back on it.

It wont be the same computer but u will still have ur data

Another way is to use MAX BLASTER 5

I recomend this it copys everything from ur old hardrive to a new one and its done from DOS, but u still need a second hardrive or an external one

If you did not install a new OS, check your compute manual on how to restore factory specs. You will lose all of your programs, but you can reinstall them.

Another alternative, is try to get into safe mode, and try last known good configuration
