Driver Issues-Webcam

:mad:Everytime I try to install my webcam, it says Found New Hardware,so i push Install Driver..then it searches at the bottom, but everytime i get an error message "Windows couldnt find driver software for your device",but i have installed the webcam driver software over and over.. so i push "Check for a solution"..then it says could not find driver software HELP

Try this, create a new folder on your desktop and put the drivers in there, when it asks for a driver point it towards the new folder and install it manually.

thanx for replying stoneys-nuts,
i have tried this already and got the same error messages as before. It says it couldnt load the device for image.

I dont have the registry the site specified, which should i delete? They said delete the one that starts with digits 364- but none of my registry keys has this number.

Before you change anything in the registry you need to make a backup copy.
Download CCleaner, (link below), and run it, backup registry when prompted.

CCleaner - Download

Also go to device manager and see what is listed there, is there any yellow question marks ?. If there is un-install it, run a search for anything connected to this webcam, hidden folders too, delete anything to do with it, what we want, is all trace of this off your system. Then run CCleaner.

How do I find all files associated with it? (sorry, im a beginner at this)..there is one question mark:systemdevices/AMD-8151 HyperTransport(tm)AGP3.0 Graphics Tunnel....should i delete??

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, 34bit (i think):confused:

I think that there are major problems with my computer, because i cant install things correctly. When i tried to install the driver, it only opened to a folder with folders for a lot of different languages. I recently got my computer "repaired" after a hard drive crash, and i dont think they installed Vista incorrectly.:cry:

I have a few other problems, too, so maybe I cant install the webcam because of problems with my computer??

If you had your PC repaired they should have re-installed all the drivers, including this one. I would return it and ask them to finish the repair.
Did you try CCleaner ?.

Okay, I will do that..so you think that is the problem? because I dont even have any Windows programs such as Word, I only have the basic WordPad, and NotePad.

Hi there stoney-nutz. I have the same problem with kgurlbalin :(
im trying to install my webcam driver but there appears an error in my tray something like
locate software blah blah blah..
then everytime I locate the software there appears this error
"the class installer registry is invalid."

I tried the CCleaner. What should I do next?
