Canon LBP-5000 drivers not found

Hi, I'm using a Canon LBP-5000 laser color printer for home and work and vista 64 doesn't recognize the drivers. I can't get it to install and so now, the printer doesn't work.

I've checked out Canon's site and no information is forthcoming about whether a driver will even be released at all.

I'm loathe to buy a new printer as this one is not even 8 months' old yet.

Any suggestions on how I can get this to work would be very welcome.

Hello Dippers and welcome to the Forum.

Support for x64 seems to be very sketchy :( have you tried using the x64 driver for the LBP5360 it is a similar model and might possibly work for you?

nope.. no luck.. tried each and every driver in it :( .... (btw i selected the install port as USB001. hope thats correct).

anyway, thx for the help. i'll proceed with installing xp !
