Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding! help big problem!

Hi

I was recently playing gta4, as i have been doing for months now, and its all been fine.

But today for some reason the screen went blank for a few seconds and a popup on the startbar said that the display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has been recovered successfully.

Ive seen loads of posts and stuff about this problem and loads of people have it, is there any actual fix or is this then end?! Its happening all the time now, and i havent installed any updates lately compared to when it used to work fine.

please help, thanks

The band-Aid or work around for me was to install Dedicated x64 drivers for my monitor... add that to the hotfixes on that site ;)

as neither NVidia nor Microsoft will accept responsibility for the issue it'll never get fixed , thousands and thousands are affected with it as you have seen , i had it a while pre SP1 but it just went away on its own
