Hi, I've tried to install a new printer on my computer today and I received a message that says "processing cannot be continued because the Print Spooler service has been stopped. Restart the computer to start the Print Spooler service and then try again". I'm not sure if this matters but I first did an install on my laptop which worked fine and then I tried doing another installation on my desktop which did not work.
I've also been looking for solutions online and have tried the following but failed :
Click Start, Run and type the following:
CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND= RPCSS
Alternately, to accomplish this using Registry Editor:
Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
Navigate to the following branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler
In the right-pane, double-click the DependOnService value
Delete the existing data, and then type RPCSS
Close Regedit.exe
I'm also running on Vista Home Premium 32 bit
