Trendnet TBW-102UB driver Blues...[SOLVED!]
Hi, Vista x64 newbie here, it took me a while to install it, then another portion to navigate but I am getting the feel of it the more time I give it. Hit a little snag with my video card drivers but was able to solved that.
Everything is working fine except my Trendnet TBW-102UB Bluetooth adapter (Version 2.1, works a treat on XP though). I have searched all over the place, I have downloaded a vast of different so called x64 drivers but to no avail and I was wondering if I just go ahead and buy me a new dedicated x64 dongle or if there is hope, yet for me.
This is what I have done so far.
The software that came with the dongle is from Bluesoleil (XP only), I have heard that IVT makes it for them but couldn't find a solution there. Trendnet lists a Ver 3.0 that supports Vista but it didn't work at all. Perhaps it only supports Vista 32?
I also found a Bluesoleil Ver 6.0 software but this is what I think gave me problems with my video card as my PC locked before the login splash screen and I was not able to get it back until I went to safe mode and uninstalled the Nvidia drivers. Finally, I was able to make it work and the dongle seemed to be working find but I was running std vga graphics and also, the software was asking me for a serial # to register or pay about 30 bucks to get it. I have no problem paying for something but I am not about to pay twice for something I already bought and it should work... or am I wrong to think that way?
Anyways, sorry for the long rant, I am kind of anxious and frustated at the same time because I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 hoping that I would be able to play the games in DX10 now and since I only have Bluetooh Headsets, I am kind of stuck having to play the games on XP DX9 only.
I also opened up a ticket with Trendnet Help support but I haven't gotten a response from them as of yet and I doubt they will give me good news.
I am hoping that some of you here will lend a hand or point me in the right driver direction
... Thanks again
