i have a mb *asrock alivexfire sata2..." i cant install vista 64 ultimate on 1 WD 80gb sata hdd, it dosent get the drivers from asrock site working, ive put them on an usb stick as it says on official asrock download section - vista*how to instal sata-raid-ahci...
now ive lost my xp from hdd... and my xp cd too, only got the vista ultimate 64 cd.
ive tried ahci-raid-sata , now on the xp boot it says "read error 0 ..." on a boot like before so i guess my xp is messed-up becouse of ahci-raid-nonraid setups on bios (my fault)
System config is:
asrock alivexfire sata2
2x 2x1gb geil stick dual channel sets 800mhz
video ati hd2600xt 512mb / 128b
hdd WD 80 sata x2 - 160gb usage.
nexus caterpillar silent case
an 128mb no name stick, ive boted (LINUX LOW-RES) from it so its quite ok ... now it has the drivers from asrock oficial site "alivexfire sata2" download section on it.
ive tried leaving only 1 hdd on but the same problem ocures (as ive found on some posts that 2 hdds could be a problem) and the remove of 1 set of dual channel ddr - leaving only 2gb of dual channel ram (the whole 4gb were scanned by memtest and the utility on vista cd)
searched here for 1h, i gaved up searching and posted.
Thank you,
Obiman
