restart and usb

hello,
I have a problem with restart that just started today.If I restart my computer , it wont load windows,but if I shut down and start, its ok. I dont know if its windows or bios related. I have tried a system restore back before I installed the update today.
Dont know what to do now. I may try a clear cmos jumper on my board

Try a system file check first
Go to start menu type cmd
Right click and click run as administrator
type the following noting the space after the c and click enter
sfc /scannow

Iget this if I do that
Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.

Go to services and check that Windows Modules Installer services has started please
Right click it go to it's properties and set it's start up to manual
Then start it
Re run the sfc scan

Do you know how to get into safe mode?
you could try running it in safe mode too

I have even a bigger problem now.
When I boot into windows ,my sound and my internet connections are not working,
My last resort was to try a live unbuntu cd ,thats my only connection to the internet for now.
Do you think that my hard drive is toast?or could it be something else. my sound is working now so I guess its ok
What could be wrong cant be ram? I dont know

How do you boot into safe mode?

Restart your computer and before Windows starts to load tap F8 and just keep tapping that and you should get several options, Safe mode is one that is offered

I ran the scan and I couldnt get in safe mode tapping f8 just noticed this is vista and im on windows ten.
sorry, My scan came up with windows resourse protection did not find any integrity violation.
