Vista 32 Home Premium Crash issue

Hi all.

New to this forum. Just wondering if anyone can help me.
My problem is that my Laptop either crashes or freezes.

- It doesn't happen in Safe Mode
- I have attempted System Restore from a save point before the issue first happening , re-installing from hidden partition, and finally a complete format and re-installation of Vista.

I gather from this that it is probably software related, but really not sure how as I completely re-installed Windows.

Yes I should've been more specific. The laptop just turns off or freezes after a short period in normal mode. I have also tried replacing the fan and cleaning the heatsink area. Neither has solved the issue.

Have you installed any drivers or programs just before this started?
Random freezing can be very hard to track down and if it is a hardware problem even a re-install won't help.
I have just needed to buy another laptop for the same reason, I should point out I have used it daily since 2004 so it was about time
