shut down and beeps

I have this issue with the computer screen going black, and the computer beeping, 5 beeps. I have to
remove the first memory card, and reinsert it, then all is OK. It happens every 2-3 weeks.
I do all the routine maintenance with clear unnessary files, cookies,etc.
System is Gateway 5656 Vista HP . 409 gb free on HD .
