Hello guys!
Recently, I bought a new HDD: TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 ATA Device (2000 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-III)
I had a Hitachi IDE 80GB, and a WD SATA2 blue 500GB. On the WD, is Windows XP, and Windows 7. And on the ATAPI drive, was Ubuntu 12.10 and Vista. Because it was slow and small, I moved the Linux to the new HDD, and Vista to the WD HDD. Ubuntu works well, only the /etc/fstab needed to be fixed. Vista didn't manage to survive...
Also, I messed up everything, so nothing could boot without hiren's boot CD. But I deleted every corrupt bootloader and installed Windows8, then reinstalled GRUB2, so now everything works.
Currently, my PC boots GRUB2 first, with two main entries. Linux, and windows BOOTMGR. Windows BOOTMGR has the more entries. NTLDR (for XP), and Win 8-7-Vista. Also I have an entry to go back into GRUB.
Currently Vista is the only one that doesn't want to work. It boots, but really slowly, then creates a new desktop, as a new user, and fails. It shows me an activation screen with black background, and all I can do is exiting to nothing. Barely nothing works.
What is the best I can do? I deleted the partition from the 80GB HDD, but I haven't created another one, so possibly I could recover it. And also, I haven't got anything important on the vista partition, so I could just reinstall it, then give back the bootloader to win8 with the repair disc.
Also, vista repair disc couldn't solve the issue.
Do you need screenshots from Vista?
