Greetings!
I have a vista installation that simply will not boot, so i boot it up on a vista installation dvd, enter the repair/command prompt.
When I try to run "SFC /SCANNOW" and "sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows" it talks back to me
I also tried the "bootsec /fixboot" and "bootsec /fixmbr" before i decided to try sfc /scannow... didn't help!
sfc /scannow
Response: "Windows Resource Protection Could Not perform the requested operation"
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
Response: "Windows Resource Protection Could Not Start the Repair Service"
So my question is, WHAT NOW?!
