Solved Random BSOD - Restarting & wake from sleep

First time posting here, so please bear with me as I attempt to upload the requested files created by the SF program instructions.

I will get a BSOD when restarting or waking from sleep. I'm in the process of getting my video card replaced via RMA from EVGA. They're sending me a GTX 460 SE. Also, I'm working on getting the PSU replaced as the voltage was showing a bit shallow in the 11.82-11.88 range according to HWMonitor. Thermaltake says it's within ATX specs but they're willing to RMA anyway. System is about 4.5 years old that I built myself.

Reckon we'll start with y'all suggesting how to resolve. I've resorted to shutting down and powering down rather than putting to sleep which seems to have stopped the BSOD that occurred during restart. I can restart without a BSOD now. SFC doesn't show anything but these 2 entries with everything else reporting OK:

I only did verify and I do notice an issue with changing options with IE 9 - states "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" but I'm using the only account I ever created which is an admin account.

Hope we can get to the bottom of this without having to do a clean install, but I can resort to that if need be.

I guess I should've added that I'm seeking help to resolve this issue.

It appears to be a driver, you reports are consistent. That being said they name a driver which is not the true cause. Our mission is to determine the true cause of your BSODS and correct driver. Lets start with a test.
Take this test which works equally well with Seven or Vista

Will attempt to do that later this morning and upload any mini dumps created if I get a BSOD.

Well, I ran the verifier for about 10 hours and no BSOD. However, I went to turn off the verifier this morning and tried to restart...BAM! BSOD!

I made a new dump file that I'm attaching below. Please let me know if there's anything else you need to troubleshoot this issue. I had thought maybe it was the driver for my video card so I uninstalled everything and am just using the standard VGA driver by Windows. After I post this, I'm removing the old 9800GTX and replacing with the new one they sent me... a GTX460 SE....we'll see how that goes.

It was Verifier generated. You lucked out because you almost shut it down.
Uninstall your acronis stuff.
Create a system restore point, first, in case you want it later or if the BSODs continue.

I'm wondering if it's the darn NVIDIA driver(s). I get a black screen flash when I boot up with them and not when it's just the standard VGA driver. I uninstalled all my Acronis stuff. Still got a BSOD when I restarted with the 306.97 driver. I just removed those completely and moved to the beta 310.33. If I run verifier on that one, will it automatically BSOD since it's not WHQL certified?

BTW...this totally sux....only problem I have is waking from sleep and restarting...otherwise, you'd never know anything was wrong. Need to be able to do both, so we'll keep trudging along I reckon

With Verifier only weak drivers are stressed enough to cause BSOD, nothing to do with certification.

Makes sense....just to note that I did a roll back to the 306.97 drivers via a somewhat brainless act of Windows Update. They didn't call the update what it should...Nvidia 306.97 driver update or something similar....they gave it some cryptic name that implied it was an improvement over the Beta drivers I had loaded instead of 306.97.

Anyhoo, I ran verifier again with the 306.97 drivers loaded and no BSOD. I disabled Verified and restarted...again, no BSOD. I've restarted several times without a single BSOD and am almost to the point of testing sleep mode to see if it will wake without throwing a BSOD. I did run Norton Utilities reg clean program after deactiving Verifier and it cleaned up a lot of broken entries. So far, so good....just worried about ruining everything by testing the sleep mode.....

Any other suggestions to see if the problem still exists or if it's somehow been 'fixed' through complete removal of the old Nvidia drivers and a clean install of 306.97?

These problems are cause by conflicts and the reports indicate that Acronis might be the cause. If you remove the software in conflict with Acronis it may work, too. That being said, I have no idea what that software may be; removing Nvida may be the answer. The only way to know is to use the computer.

Well, I deep six'd Acronis a few days ago....haven't seen a BSOD in two days. Although, I've yet to attempt a sleep cycle. Might try that tomorrow when I have some time.

I ge the trial-and-error stuff...I'm more of a hardware guy; not software, so I very much appreciate the help!

I'm still getting the PROCESS HAS LOCKED PAGES stop error when restarting. I've completely removed anything to do with Acronis. I've run verifier numerous times (even with the questionable 306.97 NVidia drivers) and never had it throw a BSOD yet the dump files keep pointing towards the video drivers.

What are our next steps to troubleshoot absent a complete reinstall of Vista. Which, I think if I have to do that, I'd just buy Win 7 since I don't have the SP1 disks and would have to start with original Vista (install disk I do have) and upgrade to SP1 then SP2 with all the lovely patching in between.

However, that is my last resort and still hoping we can repair this old girl.
