Hi,
I hope someone can kindly give me some advice on how to solve this problem.
OS = Vista Business 32bit
The computer starts up, logins in and then after a few seconds most of the things on the computer completely freeze for 20 minutes, the mouse and keyboard still work and I'm able to access the start menu/taskmanager. For instance I can click on "My Computer" and it will open up the window but won't open anything inside it, the internet and all the other applications are pretty much the same. After 20 minutes it just seems to load things as normal and do its regular thing.
After about a month I thought I'd get to the bottom of it, so I've done virus scans (McAfee & Avast) and used Spybot Search and Destory. Nothing found. The windows updates are also all completed.
I then played around with Task Manager when starting up and killed a scvhost (SYSTEM Process) - Not that it was using much CPU or RAM, just out of curiosity, and as soon as I did that the PC started to load the rest of its normal programs and services.
I guess what I'm asking is does anything look suspicious in the service list below, or how do I determine which service is causing the problem?
Thank you,
Ray
