Solved Mystery icon overlaid on my desktop icons

In the last day an icon of a girl's face is overlaid on top of some of my desktop icons. They are either Word files, .pdf files or photos. My security suite and spyware programs say that nothing is amiss.

Does anyone know what these are, how they got on my computer, and how do I banish them to the gates of hell?

This is a "bug" in Windows.

Press F5 whilst on the desktop & it should refresh & be OK.

Not able to say where the pictures come from though, unless you know the "Girl"!

Yeah, that did it. She was a little cartoon character, I don't hang around with them much.
