Quick note- this is not my PC. This is a friend's PC I am fixing (he asked me to, so I said why not), because he does not know the first thing on doing stuff like this..... and well, even I am stumped.
Booting on Vista (loooong time to do so, about 3 minutes or so), I finally got to the main screen, and like a few seconds after, a BSOD popped up,, talking about a system_service_exception (and once when I booted in Safe Mode (took even longer, 10 minutes or so), it gave me some IRQL error (didn't get to read all of it, it immediately restarted after making the dump file ))
So.
I am currently booting on my flashdrive version of Ubuntu, with the internet, and looking through other similar threads, they give all different possible solutions, and I don't really have time or the ability to try all of them.
Now, since this is my friend's laptop, I don't want to dig in the hardware and replace/remove/etc any RAM or whatnot.
It is a cheapo Dell Inspiron 1545 PP41L, with Vista Home Premium as the installed OS. (Hate Vista and don't like Dell too much, but with both... Ooooohhhh
)
Any suggestions?
Currently doing - trying to burn memtest86+ to a CD, but Brasero keeps crashing..
