Howdy! I did find someone on this forum with my same problem only I can't fix it the way the moderator suggested. Here we go:
On my Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop, running Vista Home Premium 32, windows explorer starts crashing and wanting to be restarted constantly. It starts as soon as I boot up and it also crashes in all safe modes. I thought it was a virus so I went thru all my steps to detect and nothing. So I ordered a harddrive case, removed it, wiped it and restored it to factory image. I bought a bigger harddrive, cloned the original (now clean) onto it and re installed every flippin thing. After my last windows update I think the trigger was logging on to IE. It started all over again. I have been using the laptop all day and going on and off the internet as well with no prob. But all of a sudden, boom problem back. I now think it was/is a software conflict all along. Here is the Problem crash report:

I know the shell file above is the problem. I have Adobe CS4 Master Suite installed. I've used that on this computer w/out problems for over a year. I think it's the last Vista update but I'm not positive since I just had to reinstall about 150 updates since there are about 5 years worth. The issue I have is that I can't open a window at all. I can't use the start (windows) button. I can't run any programs that aren't on my desktop. I can only run IE if I click on it really fast in the one second I have before Windows Ex crashes. Since I've obviously had the adobe shell file on this computer for a long time, I don't think uninstalling it will be the best choice. How do I troubleshoot this when I can't use my computer? I can hook up my drive to another computer if I take it out.
Oh and I tried system restore (The harddrive has only had 2 days of life) to before the vista update and the problem is still there. No matter how far back I go it's still happening. I'm hoping I don't have to wipe the whole thing again.
