I maxed out my RAM a few weeks ago, and ever since I have noticed my reboot time went from like 60 seconds to over five minutes. In fact I do not see an increase in performance anywhere. Almost as if I removed some RAM. As far as I can tell everythign was compatible. I also did a test on crucial.com, and everything checked out ok. I am running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Here is a list of information from crucial:
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.* All fours slot have 2gb DDR PC2-5300.
Maximum Memory Capacity: 8192MB
Currently Installed Memory: 8GB
Available Memory Slots: 0
Total Memory Slots: 4
Dual Channel Support: Yes
