Hello,
I am not exactly sure when this problem started, as I haven't tried to play a video in about 2 months, and it worked then. However, it now seems that every time I try to open an .avi file (I haven't tried with other video formats), whatever program I am trying to use to play it, gives me the MMC error of "blah blah has stopped working" and gives me the option of closing the program or going online to fix the issue. If I click the "go fix the issue" button nothing happens. I've tried system file check and a clean boot. I tried going to Device manager to check on the drivers, but the same exact thing happens when I try to open Device Manager.. I get the MMC error. I know that this is a common error with Vista and it seems, after reading through tons of issues, that the only solution is to reinstall Vista, which I would like to avoid if possible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!
