well this morning my toshiba satellite running vista was fine. Now this afternoon when I go on no programs boot up and the screen freezes whenever I click. What is up???

I'm kind of clueless what to do in smart mode. Can you please explain how to fix the problem in safe mode richard?? Thanks if you do. Keep in mind I'm not that good at safe mode so please describe in detail

Well everything popped up huge. Everything worked nicely except on games. It said failed to find a suitable display device or something like that. So now what?

No intenet in safe mode. Ok now we know it is a problem with some software. We will try to solve it with this.
Get out of safe mode and do this carefully. This is not the cure, it is a way to show what the problem is.

No, all a clean boot does is remove almost everything that is started at boot; programs and such. If you boot fast, and all is ok, you put the programs back slowly, so we see which is the problem.

Under services I clicked hide microsoft services and disabled all the remaining services. I didn't want any of them and I am currently restarting. I hope it was one of those services causing the problwm
