Hi,
If Stand-by does not work, hibernation usually does not work either. You could just not use them.
However: It is usually a driver that causes this issue. Update ALL your drivers and your BIOS and see if this fixes your problem. If not post back the exact BSOD code you get and any file names that are included in the message.
