Hello,
Let me start off by giving the specs of my machine. It's a Gateway FX that I bought from Newegg this past June and below is a screenshot of the specs. And here is the Newegg Link to the computer so you can see more specs.
I'm having a lot of problems with my Vista right now and was wondering if someone here might be able to help me solve my problems. Let me give you a quick run down of what's been happening. About a week ago, I went to bed and put my computer in the low-power state (see below).
I usually do this at night because I hadn't thought it would be a problem. I had two programs up and running when I did this - Firefox (version 3.5.3) and Microsoft Word 2007. The Word document was just blank and I left this up often because with my new computer it only came with a trial version of Microsoft Office and I didn't want to keep wasting my trial usages each time I needed to open it. Either way, I woke up the next morning and my computer had shut down. I didn't really think anything of it. I figured maybe updates had been done and it had shut off or something (there was no power outage). I turned on my computer for the day and that is when my problems began.
I opened up Firefox and was just checking my gmail and such when Firefox closed. I didn't think anything of it and opened it back up again. It closed shortly thereafter again and I thought something might be up. I ran CCleaner and Spybot - Search and Destroy and SB-S&D didn't find anything and CCleaner just cleared my cookies and temp files and such. I started getting all sorts of error messages and BSOD's. Below are some of the screenshots that I took of some of the error messages I got.
I know there were more of them that I could take screenshots of because of various reasons. Also sometimes they would come up and then I'd get a BSOD so I couldn't take it. And obviously I couldn't get a screenshot of the BSOD. But I do remember that one of the BSOD's did say something about Memory.
I did go through my programs and uninstalled different items that I didn't need such as Opera, a couple of games that I don't play ever, and I also uninstalled the Microsoft Office 2007 trial that I have because the number of trial usages that I had left was like 2 and I don't have the money to buy it.
Overall I'm not sure what is causing this problem. I am not very computer savy but I can follow directions if someone needs me to do something else. I've thought about calling Gateway but thought I'd give you all a shot first instead of wasting hours on the phone waiting for tech support from them.
Second to last, below are the error boxes I got two times after I got a BSOD. This is the information it had in the boxes.
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm deeply aggravated by my computer because I can't do anything without it giving me fits. Thanks for reading this and any help you might be able to provide.

What is Data Execution Prevention?
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.
DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm deeply aggravated by my computer because I can't do anything without it giving me fits. Thanks for reading this and any help you might be able to provide.
