BSOD during Vista upgrade from XP

I am getting a BSOD while upgrading from Xp to Vista Home. The advisor indicated that I am clean and there are no issues to prevent me from upgrading, the upgrade indicates that I may have some problems with a couple of programs that may need to be taken care of after upgrade.

I get an "IRQ less or equal" error while upgrading.

Any advice on how to idientify the culprit?

Hi, cdeboyrie, and welcome to the forums.

It could possible be the MSI mobo - does it have the Core Cell Chip for allowing of on the fly overclocking? My MSI 6285(?) had that and Vista would not upgrade for the life of me - I got fed up and did a clean install....

Are you able to give us whole error including numbers. With what you gave it could mean anything

Thanks for all the advice. After narrowing it down to the MOBO, I was able to update the BIOS to the latest rev and that seemed to have done the trick.
