blue screen in vista help!!

i am having problems with ''the blue screen'' i am using vista x64

Hi Chilloh,

If you look at the details (top box) under "Files that help describe the problem" you will see that one is a text file it might be helpfull to know what it says

No problem if this blue screen has happened only once I would'nt worry too much about it, if it is happening more often you might want to think about trying a system restore,

am i going to lose files or drivers if i do that because i installed drivers and software today.

Your system will revert back to the date of the restore point, your personal files will not be affected. Anything installed after this date programs and drivers will be affected yes.

For example you have just installed a bad driver and you are gettin blue screens and your system will not start, This driver must be removed for the system restore to work

thanks man you helped alot

so i have done the restore and i dind't get any blue screen yet.

-one question so the restore only delete the bad drivers or all driver after the problem ocured?

btw i am not english so sorry if i spelled something wrong.

When you do a sytem restore after a problem. All drivers installed after the restore date will be gone.

Your English is good I have no problem to understand you.

geuss what after the system restore it happend again then i reinstalled vista, blue screen again :cry:

i am realy out of ideas. could some one give more info about those three files that gives me more info about what happened? could you look if you have those files if not so that i delete them.

No I can't as they are on your computer not mine.

Try if you have more than one stick of RAM removing all but one stick to see if it makes a difference

Try testing your RAM

Try updating your graphic card drivers, if you are using ATI it is important to uninstall the old drivers properly first

If possible try another Graphic card

Try to measure the Graphic card temperature to make sure it is not overheating

Hi chilloh this blue screen thing seem more of a hardware problem because usually a re installation will eliminate software problems. It will be helpful if you post your computer specs and if it is an laptop would be harder to trouble shoot.

Assuming this is a desktop, I would agreed with pooch about the overheat possibility. However, if it is overhead, you are not likely to be able to complete your Vista installation. On the otherhand, I would still blow out all the dust bunnys with can air especially on the HSF assembly. In addition, leave the case open and blow directly into it with a house fan to see if helping.

If not, then I would first remove the graphic card and use on-board graphic.

Are you able to complete a boot sequence after blue screen? If yes, I would check the rams as pooch suggested and next check the power supply by may be swap out with a healthy one to see if that is it.

If unable to boot after blue screen, I would check the SATA connection to the HDD make sure it is secure by shake and tug on it, then try to see if it would boot up.

Don't panic my friend; it is just a computer. Walk away from it, take a break and think it over. Sometime the answer comes to you on its own. Hope everything goes smoothly. Post back to let us know how it goes.
