BSOD w/ Memory

Hello All,

I recently purchased new memory. Since then I've been getting BSOD. First one was a "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". I updated the chipset drivers. I thought it was resolved. Then the next day it crashed with a different error. Now once per day I get a
"IRQL Not Less or Equal"

Stop Error 0x0A.

I told the system not to reboot automatically & do a mini dump. It's not doing it. How do you analyze the dump file and find out exactly what files or what it's doing when it's crashes? Microsoft has the procedure is pretty cryptic.

Hello rlocone.

Since you just added 'new' RAM and you're having problems; your best option
would be to test each stick individualy to find if one (or more) are bad.
Burn a Memtest86 CD and boot into it and let each stick run a full pass.

I knew I forgot something. As soon as I saw the error I run a scan with the above. It came out clean. But I could run another scan before I go to bed.

Well, I'll just work on my laptop tomorrow while I swap out the sticks and test them all. I'll start testing it tonight after the game.

Hello rlocone.

It could be that they were not seated correctly before.
Now that you have moved them around; give it a day or so to see if the problem goes away.
How many sticks and did you remove and replace them all?

It was 4 in total. My thing was each stick took 25 mins to scan. I used the standard tests. That should've been enough, right?

A single pass isn't enough to conclude the memory is ok. It takes a few hours and several passes for memtest to test out and tax all the address ranges. If you want to be as sure as possible, then you should run an 8 hour test overnight.

You are useing Memtest86 available at the link below ???

Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

In my experience one 'pass' with Memtest86 taks about two hours (for one stick)!
