Help! Cant Open Google Chrome. Side by Side Configuration Is Incorrect.

I just came home from work and there was a power failiure while I was working. I turned my computer back on and went to open Google Chrome, but this message appeared...

"The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."

I have no clue what this means or what to do. I'm using safari at the moment and went on google and all the instructions look really confusing. I know VERY little about computers and the terms and what not. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

If this "repair" does not work I would try a restore point if you have a recent one.

Basically for Vista it is open Programs and Features from Control Panel, scroll to chrome and click Repair.
