Yahoo search creating new tabs

Every time I do a search in Yahoo, I click one of the result links and a new tab opens instead of just redirecting. This only happens in Yahoo. Google doesn't seem to have the issue. I am using firefox version 18.0.1 which also appears to be a yahoo edition. The only ad-ons I have are ad-block plus and better privacy. Is there a way to resolve this besides just not using yahoo as my search engine?

I don't use yahoo search but I tried it and I have the same thing happen to me. If you open the source code you will see this following the html for a link

Because of that the link will always open up in a new tab or window depending upon how your browser's preferences are set up. To my knowledge there isn't anything that you can do but live with it (or switch to google).
