Windows Live Mail -folders missing

Hi All,

So I'm thinking I may have inadvertantly clicked 'OK' on a box w/out reading it?? Maybe compact mail or something like that.

My issue is that alot of my email Folders are missing, not all of them, the ones that I had connected to 'INBOX' are all there, but folders I had connected to another folder are now all gone.

Can I retrieve these folders? I've looked for them in appdata/local/microsoft/windows mail folder and I do not see the folders in question.

Sounds like you closed the tree. Look at the list closely, you will see little pointers.
Click on the pointers to expose all of the folders.

nope, they are gone, no drop down anywhere in sight unfortunately.

could you send me a screen shot of what you have?

so I have attached...as you can see I had a 'tier' off INBOX and all of those personal folders are okay. However, I had at least one other, I think it may have tiered off the SENT or OUTBOX folder, I know it was lower down on the left prior to "Microsoft Communities"

I will have to be honest with you, I have no idea of what you could have done to make an entire section disappear like that.
This is what you do,
First, check your deleted items to see if they are there.
If not, download Shadow Explorer and see if you can restore your mail.
