I have windows vista 64bit. I use google chrome 18.0 ? The most up-to-date version. I also used IE 9. I was having a problem with java script or applets loading. I downloaded and installed Java 6.31
On google chrome I made sure it was enabled in about
lugins. In IE I made sure it was enabled in security>custom settings.
Still it wasn't working. I went into control panel and uninstalled everything Java so that I didn't have an older version lurking around...Then I reinstalled Java but still not working. I had no icon in toolbar when trying to use Java. I had no Java control panel in my control panel when trying to enable it threw the control panel.
Everytime I try to verify it on google chrome it prompts me to install the plugin which is what I already downloaded and installed. On IE it asked me if I wanted it enabled and I hit yes but still it wouldn't work.
After reading threw some support things I ended up downloading the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Java. Still same problem with both Google Chrome and IE BUT it works strangely enough in Mozilla. I don't however use Mozilla and would like it to work in Google Chrome or IE. I know have the Java Control Panel in my Control Panel but still not working on Chrome or IE and I have it enabled so I'm confused. Any Suggestions?
