Hi, new to the forum and like most newby's i am looking for an answer to a problem.......
I have bought a new hard drive for my Acer Laptop and used a hard drive cloning program to copy all the data from my current HDD across via a usb-sata cable to the new drive. When i put the new drive in the laptop i get the following problem when i try and run windows mail....
"I open windows mail and it errors "Windows mail could not be started. The

I have tried copying the windows mail files from the old drive in to the message store along with the registry values as suggested by other search threads but i still can't solve the problem.
I also did a full recovery using the Acer e-recovery program which overwrites the c partition on the new drive, and when i tried to open WM i still have the same problem.
I have googled this problem and it is not uncommon when upgrading the HDD, but i can't seem to find a solution.
I would like to continue using WM, I have a pre-installed version of vista and have made recovery discs which i have used succesfully to install vista on the new HDD prior to using the clone software, Easus Todo Backup 4.0. I'm not sure if i could do a repair install of WM, and would i have to do this on the new hard drive or the old one, which is working fine? It's almost like something changes once the WM has been taken off the original source and placed elsewhere.
I'm a bit of a novice so feel free to 'dumb down' any replies, lol!
Thanks in anticipation, Andy
