Windows mail email notification, small envelope in taskbar and new email chime

but when I check for the new email there is no email to be found. If I click the envelope it takes me to the first email in my actual inbox and not in one of my sub-inbox folders. It has been doing this for awhile but lately it has been beyond ridiculous. I normally leave my email minimized in my task bar and maximize it when I get an email. Is this is known issue?

The first thing that I would do is to get the most up to date version. Windows Live Mail 2011 and see if that works any better.

I have an e-alert set up, and it sounds for both my e-mails used. I finally set the one up as a default in my Windows mail and have the other forward to it. Look in your Tools, accounts and see what you have going on , if you have one listed as a default , then i would think that would be the one you are getting the new e-mail chime about , but, it seems you would have sub folders and such, Who else do you use for E-mail servicess, maybe something has not been set /configured correctly yet.
