Solved Printing error "Class doesn't support automation"

Hi

On my Vista Home Premium PC, since installing IE9 I cannot print on any of my printers, I have an Hp attached and an Epson shared on my W7 Ultimate PC.

When I try to print a page using any method, File/Print, the Quick Print icon or CTRL P I get an error box saying.

An error has occurred with the script on this page
Char 1
Class doesn't support automation
URL: res://iefram.dll/preview.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

If I click yes I just get the same error back again, If I click no it still does not print.

Any help appreciated.

What version of Java have you installed? Please uninstall all other vesions & update to version 7: -

Thanks for the link, I have installed java 7 and uninstalled older versions then rebooted but the problem persists.

What finally worked was:

reboot
turn off all shields in Avast AV.
run in this order
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

Did the trick. Instant fix without a reboot.
Rebooted and fix was still in.

Regsvr32 will not do it unless no AV is on.

Sorry, it did not work, but we can keep looking at it.

BTW this did not happen with IE8, but I want to keep IE9 because of it's increased security.

Hi

I have finally fixed the issue with the file related to this KB (KB2522422)
Cannot print from Internet Explorer 9 using some Canon printers
even though it is for Canon printers
and I have an HP. it did the trick.
