Windows Mail will not launch/open

Windows mail suddenly stopped working this morning. That is it will not launch. You click on email and the windows mail flashes for a fraction of a second and then disapears. Everyting was working fine last night. Any supprt or help would be greatly appreciated

Why not just upadate to the most current. Windows Live Mail 2011?
You will have the most current and its still supported.

Thank you Richc46 and T-4-2 for your posts. Here is an update.

Both windows live update and service pack 2 updates failed despite repeated attempts. When I click on support for error code it goes nowhere ie no link.

When I tried system restore it is almost the same thing when I click on it nothing happens.

everything else seems to be working fine. I did notice that there was a windows discovery update took place last night that is the only thing different from yesterday and today.
