I have vista ultimate and for some resaon I can not launch anything including my browers without getting a popup asking me what program to use to open. I can however right click and hit start and browser opens ok, PLEASE HELPPPP !!!!!

This one had a " Fix it for me " application and a " I'll fix it myself " instructions ".

even when i get to restore i still get the popup asking what program and no matter what i click it just keeps making a vicious circle

It is very easy
Just click on the lnk then save to your desktop. Then open it.
Do the same with .exe. It is very easy and Im pretty sure that it will work.
