preventing unwanted font size increases

After using Live Mail for years with no problems, last week it suddenly started enlarging the font size to some gigantic amount (100+). This is only in responses to emails I sent.
I can't get it to stop. Resetting the font size under Tools has not stopped it. Suggestions?

I recommend you try to upgrade to WLMail 2011 in Windows Essentials 2011 (and include any other programs you want to add as well like WLMessenger 2011 or whatever). Windows Live Essentials 2011.

Not only is this an improved product, but the upgrade is likely to resolve the problem (I hope).

If you're unwilling to consider this, then do you know when this problem began? Try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began. Here's the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html. Be sure to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for the updates.
